Time to get all your eggs in a basket. Easter is hippity-hopping on its way, and The Beaches of Fort Myers & Sanibel is celebrating all over the place.

Enjoy yourself at one of these springtime family celebrations throughout the area. They start the weekend before Easter and continue through Easter Sunday.

13th Annual Children’s Spring Festival, March 31, 2007, Sanibel Island. Kick off the Easter season at Sanibel Community Park. The celebration begins with a free morning Easter Egg Hunt for two different age groups, starting at 9:30 a.m. for ages 4 and younger and 9:40 a.m. for ages 5 and older. Activities that follow include a bounce house, giant slide, face painting, a Daddy Dunk Tank, games and arts and crafts from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Cost for an activity armband is $10 per child; photos with the Easter Bunny are $3. Breakfast with the Easter Bunny, March 31, 2007, Fort Myers. Sit down to breakfast with the big fluffy guy from 8 until 10 a.m. at T.G.I.Friday’s restaurant in Bell Tower Shops. Breakfast costs $8 each and includes pictures with the Easter Bunny, door prizes, clowns and face painting. Proceeds benefit Healthy Start Southwest Florida, helping and educating at-risk mothers and mothers-to-be. Information: 239-425-6920, www.healthystartswfl.com

Spring Egg Hunt, March 31, 2007, Fort Myers. Bring the kids to Centennial Park to take part in a grand Fort Myers tradition. Toddlers (children must be able to walk on their own) up to six years old are divided into age groups. The Egg Hunt begins promptly at 10 a.m. Children should bring their own basket to collect eggs. A drawing for special prizes will follow. Information: 239-338-2287.

12th Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Apr. 7, 2007, Fort Myers Beach. Kids scramble for Easter eggs and candy at Beach Elementary School starting at 9:30 a.m. Information: 239-454-7500, www.fmbchamber.com

Bonita Springs Easter Egg Hunt, Apr. 7, 2007. This 13th annual event keeps kids hopping in search of 10,000 eggs, beginning at 11 a.m. at Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream. The free hunt also includes an ice cream-eating contest and wacky relay races, such as the Bunny Hop, the Cone Carry and the Egg Toss. Information: 239-992-2000.

Sanibel Island Easter Egg Hunt, Apr. 7, 2007. The Easter Bunny makes an appearance to pose with kids at Sanibel’s egg-seeking event. It begins at 8:30 a.m. at Sanibel Historical Village & Museum. Children ages 2 to 12 are divided into age groups and must bring their own baskets to collect eggs stuffed with candy and other prizes. Information: 239-472-0345.

Easter Bunny Trail, Apr. 7, 2007, Cape Coral. Kids ages 12 and younger can hop (or walk) along the Bunny Trail at Mike Greenwell’s Bat-A-Ball & Family Fun Park – from hole to hole on the miniature golf course – to collect goodies. The Easter Bunny will greet them on the final hole with a special treat, plus there are prize drawings throughout the event, 10 a.m. until noon. Eggcellent Easter Eggstravaganza, Apr. 7, 2007, Fort Myers. Test your hopping skills in a sack race, wear bunny ears you make yourself and meet local wildlife up close at Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium’s “eggcellent" adventure. Of course, there will be egg hunts and pictures with Mr. E. Bunny himself throughout the day, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission of $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-12 includes access to all the nature center’s exhibits, trails and shows. Dunbar Easter Parade, Apr. 8, 2007, Fort Myers. Put on your Easter bonnet for this old-fashioned strut of Easter finery down Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard to the Stars Complex starting at 3 p.m. Stay for feasting – everything from kettle corn to soulful ribs – plus gospel, R&B, hip-hop and rap music from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Information: 239-246-8466.
